The report shows that the average rate for a hotel room in Greece reached 160 euros in September 2024, up from 128 euros in September 2023. Alongside this increase, hotel occupancy rates also rose, reaching 83.5 percent this September — an improvement of 5 percentage points over the previous year. ITEP also highlighted a difference in occupancy trends between seasonal hotels and those operating year-round, with each category experiencing unique shifts. Month-over-month, the average price for a double room decreased by 14 percent, down from August’s seasonal peak price of 187 euros. Despite this price dip, September’s occupancy rates outperformed July’s levels. Specifically, hotel occupancy stood at 82.8 percent in July, rose to 87.6 percent in August, and then reached 83.5 percent in September, reflecting a minor 5 percent decrease from August’s peak.
