Attica was recently named the Best Greek Hospitality Region at the Greek Hospitality Awards 2024, celebrated for its innovative strategy to elevate the overall tourism experience.

Celebrating 10 years, the awards have become a prominent event in the Greek tourism industry at the European level, celebrating and promoting the most innovative institutions, organizations, and businesses in the sector.

“We are redefining Metropolitan Attica through a holistic rebranding in the world’s most dynamic markets,” said Attica Governor Nikos Hardalias during his speech at the awards ceremony.

With the motto “Visit Attica: The Greater Athens Region”, regional authorities launched a comprehensive communication strategy to promote Attica and broaden its brand reach to a wider audience.

Hardalias noted that the campaign boosted both the average stay and spending of travelers, highlighting the region’s rich cultural and gastronomy offerings.

“In our region, we are implementing a strategic plan that weaves together the core elements of our tourism narrative: culture, gastronomy, walking routes, and Attica’s historic landmarks,” Hardalias added.

Early results of the strategy show positive progress in expanding into the global market and enhancing visitor quality indicators across all 12 months in Attica.

“We recognize our responsibility is both significant and unique, yet each step, taken day by day, will ensure that Attica continues to move forward and always forward,” he concluded.
