Photo source: htheoharis.gr Greek Parliament member and former Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis represented Greece at the 122nd UN World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) Executive Council meeting in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. Theoharis, a candidate for the UN Tourism Secretary-General role, shared his vision for transitioning the organization into a new era of global tourism development. The Executive Council serves as the UN Tourism’s governing body, ensuring the organization meets its objectives while adhering to its policies and budget. The council is pivotal in shaping strategic directions and addressing global tourism challenges. During the event, Theoharis engaged with tourism ministers and national representatives, emphasizing the importance of Greece’s participation. “Our presence at the 122nd UN Tourism Executive Council was crucial ahead of next spring’s elections for the new administration,” Theoharis stated, expressing optimism about his candidacy.
