According to recent data from the E-real Estates network, which analyzed 21 mountain destinations across Greece, some locations are reporting occupancy rates as high as 95 to 100 percent for the upcoming season. Peak occupancy in mountainous Greece Karytena and Zatouna in the heart of the Peloponnese have already hit 100 percent occupancy, followed closely by Karpenissi at 99 percent. Kalavryta, Florina, and Ioannina are also seeing strong demand, with occupancy rates of 95 percent, while Edessa, Kastoria, Kalambaka, and Levidi all report rates above 90 percent for the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s period. In northern Greece, Metsovo and Grevena have occupancy rates of 89 percent, and Arachova, popular for its proximity to the Parnassos ski resort, has reached 87 percent, the same rate as Veria. Accommodation prices for the season Prices for holiday accommodations vary widely across the country. Arachova, one of the most expensive destinations, sees rates ranging from 1,011 euros to 1,555 euros for a four-night stay in an apartment or home. Stemnitsa in the central Peloponnese follows closely, with prices between 1,105 euros and 1,481 euros. Kalavryta, another popular ski resort destination, also has high accommodation costs, with prices between 1,046 euros and 1,246 euros. However, there are more affordable options in areas with high occupancy rates. In Florina, for example, prices range from 470 euros to 830 euros for a four-night stay, while in Ioannina, they range from 520 euros to 722 euros. In Kalamata, the occupancy rate is currently 65 percent, with prices ranging from 180 euros to 266 euros for a four-night stay. Ski resorts and chalets In ski destinations like Karpenissi, where bookings cover 99 percent of available properties, chalet prices can be as high as 3,500 euros for a four-night stay, accommodating six to eight people. In other parts of the country, chalets near ski resorts generally have an average price of over 2,000 euros for a similar stay.
