The report underscores Mitsis’ commitment to fostering sustainable development across its destinations, spotlighting the successful implementation of over 90 CSR initiatives through its comprehensive Sustainability & CSR Program, “A Story of Change”.

“We believe our responsibility extends far beyond industry leadership. It lies in our deep connection to the communities we serve,” said Stavros Mitsis, Managing Director of Mitsis Group.

“Our Sustainability & CSR program reflects this belief, addressing critical challenges through environmental stewardship, community empowerment, and the preservation of cultural heritage.”

Five key pillars

The program is structured around five key thematic pillars, each reflecting Mitsis Group’s dedication to sustainability and responsible business practices:

Committed to the surroundings: Empowering local communities by creating employment opportunities, supporting the local primary sector, adopting public spaces, and contributing to public organizations and events.

Enchanted with Greek history: Promoting Greek heritage by supporting local arts, cultural festivals, and showcasing traditional Greek gastronomy.

Enriched by everyone: Focusing on employee well-being, promoting inclusivity, and integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices into the workplace.

Amazed with new opportunities: Leading in technological innovation, fostering professional growth, and supporting local talent.

Concerned about the planet: Minimizing environmental impact, protecting biodiversity, and developing green partnerships.

The report illustrates the group’s positive contributions, including welcoming 400,000 guests annually, employing over 5,000 team members, collaborating with more than 4,000 suppliers and partners, and positively impacting over 4 million people in local communities.

Fully aligned with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the ATHEX ESG Index, the report reaffirms Mitsis Group’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainable growth.

Mitsis Group’s continuous efforts in sustainability and responsible hospitality have earned the company several prestigious distinctions, including Bike Friendly, Blue Flag, Green Key, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, and Travelife Gold Certification. The group is also recognized as one of the ‘Most Sustainable Companies in Greece’ by the QualityNet Foundation.
