The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in Athens will kick off this year’s holiday season with a grand celebration, inviting residents and visitors to immerse themselves in its vibrant “Christmas World”.

On December 1 at 7 pm, the SNFCC will light up its premises, including the Agora and the Canal, to mark the start of the Christmas festivities with a live music event showcasing pop artists and soul-funk rhythms.

“The decorated fir trees dominate the Agora, the plane trees along the Canal are decorated with thousands of lights, and the stage at the Agora is all set up for the most glamourous celebration,” the foundation said in an announcement.

Airing live on Greek national television, the event will begin with Greek actress Smaragda Karydi welcoming visitors before introducing VOX The Acapella Group, Greece’s first pop polyphonic band that uses the human voice as its sole instrument. Next, singer Sofia Strati will energize the audience with upbeat soul-funk tunes.
