According to the Rhodes Hotel Association, hotels in several areas, including Ixia, Ialyssos, Faliraki, and Koskinou, have also sustained severe damage. “Hoteliers understand the urgent need to restore residential areas and the urban infrastructure, and we recognize the critical work being done by the Fire Department,” said the association in a statement. In coordination with the South Aegean Region and the Municipality of Rhodes, many hoteliers are providing free accommodation to residents whose homes were damaged, as well as hosting EMAK personnel (Greek Special Disaster Response Units) who have come to the island to assist with the restoration efforts and ensure the safety of the citizens. “We fully understand the gravity of the situation and are committed to helping in any way we can, as we always do in challenging times for our island,” the hoteliers said.
