Named “Casa del Torno”, the hotel represents a pivotal step in the group’s strategy to showcase Greek hospitality globally through distinctive accommodations of significant historical value. In late September, the group announced the launch of hotels and villas in Cartagena, seamlessly blending Greek and Colombian culture. “Building on its momentum, Aria Hotels aims to expand further internationally, targeting strategic markets with strong tourism potential,” the group stated. From secluded nuns’ residence to a culturally unique hotel Photo source: Aria Hotels Nestled in the historic San Diego neighborhood, the 17th-century house is deeply rooted in Cartagena’s colonial heritage. Once a secluded home for Clarissine nuns, it retains its original wooden turn, symbolizing privacy and devotion. Carefully restored, Casa del Torno blends authentic colonial charm with modern comforts, providing guests a unique window into the city’s storied past. With its original thick walls, central patio, semi-circular arches, and a stunning colonial mural in the foyer, the house remains one of Cartagena’s few homes true to its era. Leaving the hotel, guests are just a breath away from Cartagena’s vibrant landmarks, including San Diego Plaza and the renowned Santa Clara Hotel. “At Casa del Torno, your stay is enriched by tailor-made experiences that connect you to Cartagena’s culture and beauty,” the group highlights. Dedicated to sustainability and the preservation of local cultural heritage, Aria Hotels aims to expand its portfolio with authentic hospitality experiences.
