Surveys, Trends & Stats Greece Recognized as Safe Travel Destination in Global Risk Map 2025 by GTP editing team 9 December 2024 written by GTP editing team 9 December 2024 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 23 The newly released Risk Map 2025 classifies Greece as a “low risk” country for travel, highlighting its resilience in managing potential crises. Launched by Safeture and Riskline, the interactive tool assesses global travel risks across five levels: negligible, low, medium, high, and critical. The map evaluates security, crime, healthcare quality, political unrest, and environmental challenges like storms and flooding. Updated regularly, it aims to assist travelers and businesses in planning safer journeys. Greece’s placement Greece is in the “low risk” category, which includes countries considered safe for travelers due to their resilience and effective management of most crises and threats. However, travelers should remain aware that criminal activity, terrorism, and natural disasters can still pose occasional risks. Neighboring Albania, however, is classified as “moderate risk”, alongside Turkey and Egypt, placing them closer to countries like India and Russia. European and global trends According to the Risk Map 2025, while parts of Europe remain stable, increased risks are evident in countries like France, Spain, and the UK, which now fall under “medium risk”. Conversely, Germany, Switzerland, and Nordic countries are rated among the safest destinations. Globally, Canada, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand maintain “low risk” classifications, while Argentina, Morocco, and China have shown improved conditions. Deteriorating conditions According to the Risk Map 2025, security has worsened in 77 countries, particularly in the Middle East and regions like the Maldives, which dropped from “low” to “moderate risk” due to political instability and climate-related issues. Nations such as Sudan, Niger, and parts of Africa remain in the highest risk categories. Health and medical concerns Moreover, the Risk Map 2025 shows that poor healthcare infrastructure poses significant risks in countries like Afghanistan, Haiti, and Venezuela. Limited access to basic medical supplies and emergency care exacerbates potential health threats. Safeture and Riskline note: “The medical facilities here are inadequate, and access to basic medicines and emergency care is severely restricted. Diseases that would be easily treatable in other parts of the world can become a real threat here.” The Risk Map 2025 serves as a vital resource for individuals and businesses navigating the complexities of global travel, offering insights to enhance safety and preparedness.
