The Italian carrier also added 2 additional direct flights to Sao Paulo from December, thus offering 14 weekly flights from Rome Fiumicino to Sao Paulo. In addition to connections to Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo, ITA Airways operates 7 weekly direct flights from Rome Fiumicino to Rio de Janeiro. Thanks to the new frequencies, ITA Airways offers 30 weekly flights to South America, that ensure convenient connections from/to Athens. More specifically, the new generation aircraft have narrow body (7 A321neo, 19 A320neo, 10 A220-300 & 8 A220-100), as well as wide body (11 A330-900 & 6 A350-900). This new, state-of-the-art fleet underscores ITA Airways’ commitment to sustainability, with a target of making 90 percent of its aircraft eco-friendly by the end of the 2023-2027 Strategic Plan. These advanced aircraft use 25 percent less fuel and reduce CO₂ emissions, supporting the airline’s ambition to become Europe’s greenest carrier. The company is committed to being an ambassador of “Made in Italy” by offering personalized services and delivering a uniquely Italian inflight experience. This is achieved through partnerships with prominent Italian brands, such as Brunello Cucinelli, who designed the crew and ground staff uniforms, Walter De Silva, who crafted the interiors of ITA Airways’ new aircraft, and renowned Italian chefs, who create the onboard dining offerings.
