The company made notable investments, formed key strategic partnerships, and entered a new sector: the hospitality industry. According to the company’s annual report, presented at its traditional Christmas media event, 2024 was a year of solid performance, despite facing international challenges. Goldair Group has operations in the fields of Airline Representation, Ground Handling, International Forwarding and Logistics, Aviation Security Services, Rail Cargo Transportation, Travelling, and Professional LED Lightning & Trade. Mykonos Flow: Entry into the hotel industry One of the year’s major milestones was Goldair’s entry into the hotel industry with the acquisition of the five-star Mykonos Flow. The 12-million-euro investment in the modern boutique hotel, located on the renowned Super Paradise Beach of Mykonos, marks the group’s first foray into hospitality. This strategic move aligns with the vision of Goldair’s president, Regina Golemi, who aims to expand the company’s footprint in high-demand tourist destinations across Greece. Meanwhile, the group’s travel agency division, Travellair, continues to grow steadily. Known for its premium services, the agency specializes in meeting the needs of corporate and VIP travelers. Looking ahead to 2025, Travellair plans to strengthen its position further through new partnerships and by diversifying into innovative tourism activities. Goldair Handling: 25% growth in cargo handling Goldair Handling, the company’s ground services division, is on a strong growth trajectory, fueled by the continued success of Greek tourism and increased traffic at Greece’s airports. Flight services handled by the company grew by 8 percent in 2024 compared to the previous year, with Goldair maintaining its dominant position at Athens International Airport (AIA). In the cargo handling sector, Goldair recorded an impressive 25 percent increase in turnover. To address the growing demand for services, the company has expanded its team, hiring specialized professionals from third countries. Additionally, the company saw a rise in activity across its international network, including 2 percent growth in Bulgaria, 13 percent growth in Cyprus, and the successful completion of its first year in Serbia where it expanded its customer base with partnerships, such as those with AEGEAN, Anatolu Jet, Arkia Israeli, Corendon, LOT, SKY express and Sundair. In India, Goldair further expanded its presence with the opening of a third airport at Nagpur, solidifying its position in the fast-growing Asian market. Goldair also continued to invest in infrastructure, adding 14 new buses, acquiring electrical equipment, and opening two new lounges, one in Rhodes Airport and one in the Satellite Terminal at Athens International Airport. Goldair Cargo: Resilience amid geopolitical challenges The Hellas Logistics Park in Aspropyrgos. Goldair Cargo remained resilient in 2024, overcoming geopolitical instability in regions like Ukraine and the Middle East. The company strengthened its workforce and focused on creating value through strategic investments in the logistics sector. A significant development came with the completion of an expansion at the Hellas Logistics Park in Aspropyrgos, adding 5,000 square meters of covered storage. Goldair also began construction of a 50,000-square-meter logistics facility in Aspropyrgos, a 20-million-euro investment expected to be completed by 2026. The new facility will include temperature-controlled chambers, supporting the company’s growing logistics operations. Additionally, Goldair Cargo’s subsidiary Hellas Logistics secured a key partnership with System Alliance Europe, expanding its road transport network to reach the most remote parts of Europe. Goldair Cargo also launched operations in Romania, establishing Goldair Cargo Romania srl and signing a contract with SARKKROM, the representative of TOMMY HILFIGER and Calvin Klein in Romania. This new venture, with a state-of-the-art 3,000-square-meter warehouse in Bucharest, positions Goldair Cargo for further growth in the European market. Rail Cargo Logistics Goldair: Stability in rail transport In the rail transport sector, Rail Cargo Logistics Goldair maintained financial stability, primarily benefiting from the strong performance of its logistics division. The company’s railway operations were less prominent due to the challenges posed by outdated infrastructure and limited modernization in the sector. Thriasio Freight Center: A landmark project This year also marked a milestone for the Thriasio Freight Center, with all licensing and commercial issues resolved. The company is set to begin construction in 2025 on the largest and most modern freight center in Southeastern Europe. Spanning 265,000 square meters, the project will take four years to complete. In a significant development, the center secured financing from the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), making the project a strategic one for Greece’s supply chain sector and the wider region.
