Organized by the Attica Region, the program features six holiday concerts with famous Greek artists honoring iconic musicians whose work shaped artistic trends in Greece and defined entire eras. Kicking off on December 13, the Christmas Village hosted a concert dedicated to the late composer Mimis Plessas. The Mimis Plessas Orchestra, joined by the composer’s close collaborators Eleni Peta, Dimitra Stathopoulou, and Spyros Kleissas, presented his diverse repertoire with passion, emotional intensity, and a touch of festive magic. Christmas full of music Photo source: Attica Region Concerts will enhance the festive events at the Christmas Village, featuring melodies from the golden era of Greek cinema, while reviving the nostalgic charm of Athens in the 1930s and 1940s. The program includes: – Songs in Gros Plan, December 15, at 12 pm: Singers Pantelis Thalassinos and Pavlina Voulgaraki, joined by actors Memos Begnis and Matthilde Maggira, will perform iconic songs from some of the greatest films in Greek cinema history. – Urban Songs of the Interwar Period, December 22, 12 pm: Artists Giannis Bezos, Tania Tripi, Violeta Ikari, Eleni Karakasi, and Babis Velissarios will bring the history of 1930s and 1940s Athens to life with their exceptional voices, performing timeless songs by the greatest Greek composers. Photo source: Attica Region – Childhood Innocence Through the Songs of Iconic Artists, December 29, 12 pm: Singers Giannis Zouganelis, Rena Morfi, Kostas Thomaidis, Niki Grana, and Yiannis Dionysiou will take the stage to perform beloved songs by Manos Loizos, George Hadjipieris, Nikos Kypourgos, Lena Platonos, Mikis Theodorakis, Marios Tokas, Giannis Spanos, and others, celebrating the magical beauty of a child’s soul. – A Tribute to Dimitris Mitropanos, December 30, 6 pm: Singers Peggy Zina, Babis Stokas, and Kostas Triantafyllidis will perform the repertoire of renowned Greek singer Dimitris Mitropanos. – A Tribute to Sotiria Bellou, Poly Panou, and Vicky Moscholiou, January 4, 6 pm: The program will conclude with Greek singers Eleni Tsaligopoulou, Melina Kana, and Foteini Velesiotou paying homage to the legendary artists Sotiria Bellou, Poly Panou, and Vicky Moscholiou. Until January 7, the Christmas Village will be open from 4:30 pm to 10 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 10 pm on weekends, offering art events, educational activities, and spectacular shows, all with free admission.
