Photo source: Flisvos Marina Forbes Magazine recently named the Athenian Riviera, the coastal zone of Attica, as one of the Top 12 Destinations for 2025, highlighting its luxurious charm and glamorous past. To address the needs of modern travelers, the Forbes Travel Guide curated a list of destinations, including wellness retreats ranging from the serene beaches of the Maldives to the vibrant cultural landscapes of Bhutan, offering experiences that transcend the typical vacation. The Athenian Riviera ranked 4th on the list, recognized for its luxurious hotels, sprawling coastline, and unique identity, positioning it as an emerging Greek destination beyond the islands. “Travel has been booming among the Greek Islands, where crowds flock to both the well- (Santorini and Mykonos) and lesser-known (Naxos and Ios) spots. The next big Greek beach haven lies just 10 miles south of Athens,” wrote Jennifer Kester, Forbes’ editor. “In its 1950s heyday, the Athens Riviera drew illustrious names like Frank Sinatra and Jackie Onassis to its famed beach clubs and sun-splashed shores.” Photo source: Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens The destination boasts next-generation Five-Star properties, including the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens and One&Only Aesthesis, offering bungalows and three luxurious pools.
