Turkey, a promising market for incoming tourism, has led POTAP to partner with the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) office in Istanbul to engage Turkish influencers and tourism journalists. In early December, POTAP hosted three key professionals from Turkey, who had the opportunity to meet with the organization’s president, Giorgos Karalis, its public relations director, Aris Nikas, and the general manager, Vasilis Dimou. During the visit, the officials highlighted the diverse tourism offerings in the Pieria region, including alternative tourism options for visitors with special interests and initiatives to extend the tourist season beyond the summer months. They also experienced the area’s rich gastronomy. “Expanding into international tourist markets is a continuous and promising process,” said POTAP President Giorgos Karalis. “The influencers and journalists who visited Pieria from Turkey showed significant interest in learning about the region’s year-round attractions.” Photo source: POTAPPhoto source: POTAP Karalis also emphasized that the visitors were impressed by the broad range of activities and the natural beauty of Pieria, which offers much more than just its summer appeal. “We are extremely satisfied with this first step toward engaging the Turkish market. POTAP is innovatively opening to Turkey, and we anticipate numerous benefits from this collaboration,” Karalis added.
