GNTO Showcases Greece’s Rich Culture and Traditions Through Events in January

This January, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) is supporting a range of events both in Greece and internationally, aimed at showcasing the country’s unique culture and traditions.

To promote Greece’s diverse tourism offerings, the Greek tourism board will place under its auspices several key events, including a jewelry exhibition in Athens, a fashion show in Paris celebrating traditional Greek costumes, a thematic park inspired by ancient history, and an international campaign in support of Eva Natena’s film The Murderess.

From January 9 to 12, Zappeion in Athens will host the exhibition “A Jewel Made in Greece” as part of the 11th gathering of jewelry creators from the platform of the same name.

Over 60 Greek designers will showcase their creations inspired by the glamour and allure of the Oscars, themed “Red Carpet”. The event will also feature the third edition of the artistic tribute “A Jewel for the Caryatid”, where Greek designers present jewelry pieces dedicated to the iconic ancient Greek sculpture.

Titled “Inspirations à la mode Grèce – France”, a fashion show celebrating Greek traditional fashion will be held at a central Paris hotel on January 23.

The first part of the event will feature mannequins showcasing iconic Greek traditional costumes from the historic collection of the Greek Dance Theater Dora Stratou. In the second part, graduates of the renowned French fashion school LISAA Mode Paris will unveil a modern clothing collection inspired by traditional Greek attire. A prestigious jury will award the top three creations.

Ancient Greek legends come to life

Running until January 31, the thematic park “Ancient Greece: Mythology, Culture, City-States, Arts, Sciences, Wars, and the Unique History of the Ancient Greeks” will revive the rich history of Greece at the Goudi Olympic Complex.

It offers an interactive and educational experience for all ages, allowing visitors to explore the remarkable achievements of ancient Greek civilization, admire impressive constructions featuring Greek mythology’s iconic figures, and witness the lives of ancient philosophers and scientists brought to life through AI applications.

An international campaign for Greek film The Murderess

With the support of the GNTO, an international campaign is underway to promote Eva Nathena’s film The Murderess for an Oscar nomination. Following its successful run in Greek theaters, the film has participated in numerous international festivals, earning significant awards.

It will soon be screened in the US, Egypt, Australia, Brazil, Germany, France, and Canada, where prominent opinion leaders from the film industry and international film media journalists are expected to attend.
