Hailed as a “Mediterranean jewel”, Crete earned a spot among Europe’s and the world’s top destinations on the Best of the Best lists of the 2025 Travelers’ Choice Awards by Tripadvisor, reflecting reviews from real travelers.

The Travelers’ Choice Awards ‘Best of the Best’ title celebrates the highest level of excellence in travel. It is awarded to those who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period.

Crete ranked 9th globally and 5th in Europe, praised for its rich history, cultural landmarks, and diverse outdoor activities. Additionally, it was named the 8th best destination during Tripadvisor’s 25th Anniversary.

“Soak up the charming atmosphere of Chania Town’s Old Venetian Harbor or the fortresses and monasteries of Rethymnon,” travelers reported.

London was crowned the Best of the Best Destination in the world, enticing travelers to discover its royal and historic sites, tick off iconic landmarks, and savor meals at local restaurants. Bali, Dubai, Paris, Hanoi, Bangkok, Siem Reap, Phuket, Sicily, and Cusco also made it onto the international list.
