The ship, with a capacity of 2,646 passengers and spanning 274.9 meters in length across 13 decks, is set to make 52 arrivals in Piraeus by the end of this year. MSC Cruises, a leading global cruise operator, will make 110 visits to the port in 2025 with several of its vessels, including the MSC Sinfonia, MSC Fantasia, MSC Armonia, and the luxury vessel Explora I. This marks a significant increase in the number of cruise arrivals compared to the previous year. Homeporting at Piraeus rises According to Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) management, the trend of homeporting cruises continues to grow, with bookings for 2025 expected to exceed the record of 1 million homeporting passengers achieved in 2024. This growth places the Port of Piraeus among the top three largest Mediterranean homeports. “The rise in homeporting cruises brings substantial benefits to both the local and national economy,” said PPA management. “It contributes to job creation and boosts revenues for local businesses in tourism, catering, supplies, and ship maintenance.” To mark the arrival of the MSC Sinfonia, PPA’s Deputy CEO, Captain Jin Beiyuan, participated in a special ceremony, where he exchanged commemorative plaques with the ship’s captain, Giuseppe Gazzano. allCruises, Cruiseway Travel, Navihellas Cruise Centre and Top Kinisis Travel are the sales representatives of MSC Cruises in Greece.
