The report also highlighted the organization’s increased social contributions and enhanced governance practices, all aligned with its focus on sustainability. Strengthening sustainability efforts Building on the momentum of its “Zero Waste” initiative launched in 2022, TIF-Helexpo expanded the program across all its exhibition events in 2023. The organization applied Environmental-Social-Governance (ESG) criteria to guide its activities and drafted the Sustainable Development Report based on the 2021 Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). As part of its ongoing efforts, TIF-Helexpo is participating in the European program “Waste Minimization in Large Events” and aims to reduce its total waste by an additional 7 percent in 2024. Accessibility and social inclusion In its pursuit of greater accessibility and social inclusion, TIF-Helexpo is upgrading its infrastructure and utilizing modern tools to better accommodate all visitors at its events. These initiatives demonstrate the organization’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports diverse needs. A ‘Great Place to Work’ For the second consecutive year, TIF-Helexpo achieved “Great Place to Work” certification, reflecting its dedication to creating a positive and supportive workplace culture. The certification, awarded by the global authority Great Place to Work, recognizes companies that provide outstanding employee experiences. A vision for the future TIF-Helexpo’s future development is closely tied to the planned renovation of the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center. The new facility will be a fully bioclimatic complex designed to minimize its environmental footprint. Alongside the exhibition center, a modern Metropolitan Park will be developed, featuring over 3,000 new trees and 100,000 square meters of greenery. “These upgrades reflect our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and excellence in the exhibition industry,” the organization noted.
