According to an announcement, the regional units of Imathia and Pella, together with the municipalities of Naoussa, Veria, and Edessa, have submitted a funding proposal to the Region of Central Macedonia. The proposal seeks funding for the construction of a road network to connect the area’s popular ski resorts with its picturesque villages, showcasing the region’s mountainous beauty. At a recent meeting, local officials outlined the roadmap for the new network’s development. The planned route will link: – Ski resorts: Kaimaktsalan, 3-5 Pigadia, and Seli – Villages: Kato Grammatiko, Ano Grammatiko, Agios Pavlos, Ano Seli, Bara Seli, and Kato Seli The project, still in the preliminary design phase, involves a 50km road network with an estimated budget of 15–16 million euros. It will be funded through the Integrated Spatial Investments program of the Central Macedonia Region. “Stakeholders are confident that this initiative will act as a major catalyst for mountain tourism in Western and Northwestern Central Macedonia,” said officials from the Municipality of Naoussa.
