The Thessaloniki Tourism Organization participated in the event to highlight the city’s rich cultural heritage, vibrant nightlife, delectable gastronomy, and modern infrastructure, successfully drawing the interest of thousands of visitors. The Vakantiebeurs, the largest travel event in the Netherlands, took place from January 9-12 in Utrecht’s Jaarbeurs and attracted over 100,000 visitors and more than 1,000 exhibitors. Thessaloniki: A Top Destination for Dutch Travelers According to Fraport Greece’s arrival data for Makedonia Airport, the Netherlands ranks among the top ten countries for tourist arrivals to Thessaloniki. Additionally, two international airlines offer year-round flights connecting Thessaloniki and the Netherlands. At the Vakantiebeurs, numerous meetings were held to promote the destination, with attendees exploring Thessaloniki’s attractions, activities, and hospitality offerings. The participation of Thessaloniki at Vakantiebeurs 2025 was supported by the Region of Central Macedonia, the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Thessaloniki Professional Chamber.
