In collaboration with the regional unit of Pieria, production crews are currently filming the area across all four seasons. The footage will feature Pieria’s scenic landscapes, including its mountains, coastal regions, historical and religious landmarks, and cultural heritage. The videos will also showcase the local gastronomy and various tourist destinations. “This initiative is part of our broader effort to promote Pieria and Greece globally by showcasing the region’s natural beauty, cultural identity, and diverse tourism options,” said Pieria Deputy Governor Sofia Mavridou. “Through high-quality visuals, we aim to present the area’s creative and productive character.” The audiovisual materials will also focus on promoting Pieria’s alternative tourism offerings, such as accessibility tourism, mountain tourism, religious tourism, sports tourism, ecotourism, and related activities. The materials can be used for promotional purposes, provided the source and destination identities are acknowledged. As part of this initiative, a “Pieria Tourism Photo Bank” is being established. This library will serve as a valuable resource for advertising and promoting the region’s tourism offerings in Greece and abroad. The collection will be continuously updated and expanded, featuring high-quality images and a wide range of topics related to the local tourist product. According to Pieria’s deputy governor, the audiovisual material will be an essential tool for the business community, researchers, and citizens looking to learn more about Pieria. “The photo bank will offer a reliable and comprehensive resource for promoting the area’s tourism assets,” Mavridou added.
