The tour was organized by the Ioannina Region Hotels Association, which showcased the area’s unique attractions and potential as a filming destination. Kapoor, known for Bollywood hits such as Mr. India, No Entry, Judaai, and Wanted, was introduced to the area’s diverse landscapes and cultural wealth. Members of the association’s Board of Directors provided information on key locations within the regional unit, including the town of Ioannina, Metsovo, Zagori, Tzoumerka, Konitsa, Dodoni, Zitsa, Pogoni, and coastal areas along the Ionian Sea. The hoteliers highlighted the area’s versatility, focusing on its ancient, medieval, and modern monuments, stunning natural landscapes, and opportunities for countryside activities and extreme sports. They also showcased the area’s rich gastronomy, which is rooted in local traditions. Boney Kapoor (fourth) during the meeting with IHA representatives. Ioannina combines mountainous areas of exceptional beauty, the cosmopolitan urban center with its iconic lake, and beaches of Epirus — all within short distances. “These diverse settings offer ideal locations for filmmaking, and the region also provides luxury hotels with high-quality hospitality services,” the association said in an announcement. The producer also learned that Ioannina has hosted several local and international film and television productions in recent years, further solidifying its reputation as a versatile filming location. The production is expected to involve a team of around 100 professionals from India. With Bollywood films reaching hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide, the association noted that such a production would provide invaluable exposure for Ioannina and enhance its appeal as a tourist destination.
