Not one or two but four days of free full moon fun are in store for visitors and locals across Greece in celebration of the August full moon on Thursday, with dozens of archaeological sites and museums including Athens’ Temple of Olympian Zeus, Cape Sounion, the castle town of Mystras and the once sacred island of Delos, opening their doors in true romantic fashion.

The Cycladic island of Syros will pay tribute to the Greek blues, aka the “rebetiko”, with five days full of music and more during the 1st Rebetiko Festival: Markos Vamvakaris’ Syros to run from August 31 to September 4.
