Athens, Greece, came first out of the four European markets that experienced revenue per available room (RevPAR) increases of more than 15 percent in July 2014.

The Greek Development Ministry has given the go-ahead for 100 million euros of state subsidies to be allocated for the development of hotels on popular Greek islands.
