For two days, Greek tourism professionals presented and promoted their services and products to over 60 hosted buyers from markets that included the UK, Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Lithuania, Israel, Japan and India and explored ways to launch new cooperations at the Travel Trade Athens event that wrapped up last week.

“We aim for Travel Trade Athens to reintroduce the Greek capital as an independent travel destination,” Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis said on Tuesday, 23 April, during a press conference held within the framework of the two-day event Travel Trade Athens 2013 at the Acropolis Museum.

Some 60 professional tour-operator-buyers, recruited by the European Tour Operators Association (ETOA) are at the Acropolis Museum in Athens right now and are holding B2B meetings with100 tourism industry and suppliers of the Greek capital.

The Greek capital will be in the spotlight next week when the City of Athens launches Travel Trade Athens, a two-day event aimed to restore the city’s image in the international market and strengthen its popularity as a travel destination. The trade event will take place 22-23 April at the Acropolis Museum.

Greek tourism professionals came in contact with travel agencies from target international markets and discussed new collaborations at the second B2B Travel Event held 8-9 April at the Capsis Hotel in Thessaloniki by Respond on Demand.
