Greece’s new communication approach to international markets will be displayed at leading travel trade show ITB Berlin taking place this week from Wednesday 6 March to Sunday 10 March at the Messe Berlin International Convention Center.

The cultural background and artistic interest of Amorgos and the Cyclades will be promoted to Greek and foreign journalists at the 11th International Convention of Sustainable Tourism, Preservation & Protection of Natural & Cultural Heritage YPERIA 2013 to be held on Amorgos, 8-13 May 2013.

The importance of tourism in Greece will be discussed in a session of the ITB Berlin Convention, which will take place in parallel with the ITB Berlin 2013 trade show next week, 6-10 March.

The 8th International Hotel, Restaurant and Cafe Show HO.RE.CA. successfully closed last week, achieving great unprecedented success as it has attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over Greece and abroad who flooded the Metropolitan Expo Center during all four days of the organization.

The Hellenic Association of Travel & Tourist Agencies (HATTA) is inviting Greek travel agents to attend a tourism forum in Ankara that will include B2B meetings between Greek tourism professionals and Turkish enterprises.

Greece’s need to attract tourists from new, booming markets and the importance of synergies between neighboring countries to facilitate the travel of tourists from far away destinations were the main topics discussed at the tourism forum for chambers that took place during the recent 8th HORECA Expo.

Greece welcomed 875,000 Russian tourists last year with the average expenditure per visit at 1,085 euros but strict visa regulations still remain an obstacle for a major increase of arrivals, it was underlined at the Greek-Russian Forum for tourism held today, Sunday, 10 February, at the Acropolis Museum in Athens.

“HO.RE.CA. has become an important trade event for our country that offers opportunities to tourism professionals to stand up to the difficult economic times the country is going through,” Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni said on Friday, 8 February, during the opening ceremony of the 8th International Hotel, Restaurant and Cafe Show HO.RE.CA. at the Athens Metropolitan Expo.

For two days, Athens will be the meeting place for discussions and debates on the cruise sector’s growth challenge for Greece, Eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea, organizer Posidonia Exhibitions said in regards to this year’s 2nd Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum.

Many Greek municipalities, regions and private enterprises will be in the spotlight this Spring at this years fourth exhibition promoting Greek Tourism Destinations & Traditions.
