The Greek Tourism Ministry and the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) are rationally managing their available resources by creatively reusing unutilized promotional material of the GNTO, thus saving up to 40 percent of the total cost for new material.

Air France recently launched a collection drive to gather old ground staff and crew uniforms at Paris-Orly and Paris-Charles de Gaulle airports. The collected uniforms will then be recycled into car insulation at a specialized recycling plant.

Greek tourism professionals gained valuable insights yesterday, 10 December, on calculating their carbon footprint and reducing CO2 emissions, during the presentation of the CarbonTour project and software tool at the international conference on the promotion of sustainability and energy efficiency in the tourism sector. The conference was held at the Divani Caravel Hotel in Athens.

Chalkidiki will take part in the Greece Getting Greener (3G) promotional campaign designed for Greek hotels, accredited by the Green Key eco label program for 2012, and tour seven European countries to promote its “green” profile.

Greek hotels, accredited by the “Green Key” program for 2012, will be presented to seven European countries this fall via a promotional campaign scheduled to run October 2012-April 2013.
