Aegean Continues Non-stop Expansion

Aegean Airlines, the independent Greek airline and ERA award winner, is to launch non-stop flights from Athens to Milan-Linate, Athens to Munich and from Kavala to Munich for the winter season. Athens to Frankfurt frlights are now daily and several other of the carriers routes have increased frequencies.

As well, last month, the carrier announced and launched five weekly flights from Athens to Skopje with Avro RJ100 passenger jets in both business and economy classes. In the first eight months of 2003, Aegean flew 1.83 million passengers, a14% increase versus the same period last year. On the domestic network the passenger growth was 12%, while internationally Aegean flew 19% more passengers. The airline is expected to acquire more Boeing 737 aircraft.

In its 4.5 years of operation, Aegean has carried more than 10 million passengers and has executed some 110,000 flights. The carrier covers 14 domestic destinations and 11 international ones.
