MSC Cruises’ New Ship Visits Greek Waters

MSC Musica, MSC Cruises’ brand new ultra luxurious cruise ship.

MSC Cruises’ brand new ultra luxurious cruise ship, MSC Musica, called into Piraeus harbor as part of its European cruise itinerary for the 2006-2007 season.

The MSC Musica, the company’s largest cruise ship, began its maiden voyage from Venice on July 1 of this year, after a being christened by Sophia Loren. The renowned actress also christened two of the company’s other ships, Lirica and Opera.

Musica, described as a floating palace, has the most modern and elegant interior design thanks to architects Giuseppe and Marco De Jorio.

The ship measures 294 meters in length and carries up to 3,013 passengers and a crew of 1,060. The ship offers very spacious staterooms including 18 suites with balcony and 809 exterior luxury cabins with balcony.

The ship has four restaurants, two of which feature traditional Italian cuisine and a sushi bar. Passengers can sample Italian and international wines at the special wine tasting bar. Cabaret dance shows at the Teatro La Scala, a theater with a capacity for 1,240 people are among the ship’s many entertainment options. Others choices are the cinema, casino, numerous boutiques, bars and lounges.

Passengers can also enjoy facilities such as mini golf, a golf simulator, tennis court, jogging track, swimming pools, Jacuzzis, steam rooms, thalassotherapy and yoga.

Cruise itineraries for this season include the eastern and western Mediterranean, Scandinavia and the Baltic, the Caribbean and South America.
