The Roadshow was held in London’s Hellenic Center and attracted a large amount of potential investors. The organizer, Real Travel, claims the event was a success, and it believes “The London Event served as a starting point for such road shows to be held in other influential capitals, such as the Scandinavian countries and Russia that are next on the list.” Some 23 leading Greek firms in the fields of construction, tourism, holiday homes and investments participated in the event, while there was high interest among British visitors. At least 360 buyers were briefed on developments in the holiday homes sector in Greece, including large investments now underway or about to get started. On the eve of The London Event, a VIP Greek dinner was held at the Marriot Marble Arch Hotel in London, where heads of the Greek Tourism Development Ministry and other distinguished guests were present. Tourism Development Minister Aris Spiliotopoulos addressed the dinner guests, and declared his support for the emerging holiday homes market. He asserted, “Developments must go hand-in-hand with environmental protection,” and stressed the ministry’s commitment to “green” tourism.
