TUI Hellas announced it would tackle the global environmental threat through the implementation of a carbon-offset program to balance the emissions created by the tour operator’s privately owned tour buses. The tour operator recently offset the carbon footprint of the tour buses used to transport customers to Crete and Rodos.

Nikos Papathanasis, CEO of TUI Hellas, underlined that tourists visiting Greece want to see the beauty and richness of its natural heritage, “Which is why TUI Hellas is trying to contribute as much as possible to reduce the effects of climate change and global warming.” Mr. Papathanasis asserted his belief that all companies must implement an integrated environmental strategy so as to contribute cooperatively to tackle environmental risks. TUI Hellas is a member of the global travel agency TUI Travel PLC, which implements an integrated environmental policy.
