Travel Operators Kiss Flights Goes Bankrupt by GTP editing team 1 September 2010 written by GTP editing team 1 September 2010 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 8 British budget travel company Kiss Flights collapsed on 17 August due to bankruptcy and left some 13,000 travelers stranded abroad and another 60,000 to find new bookings. The company sold flights to Greece, Egypt, Turkey and the Canary islands. Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Yiorgos Nikitiadis ordered all Greek National Tourism Organization offices throughout Greece to offer assistance to tourists “who may be trapped in the country.” On its part, the Hellenic Association of Travel and Tourist Agencies (HATTA) assured the press that the British company’s collapse would have no significant impact on Greece. According to HATTA, out of the 13,000 stranded travelers only a small portion had booked to Greece via Kiss Flights during that specific period. Kiss Flights is the third British travel company to fold in the past month following Goldtrail Travel, which specialized in low-cost holidays to Greece and Turkey and Sun4U, which specialized in holidays on the Spanish coast and Mallorca.
