Greek entrepreneurs, interested to start their business in Russia, were informed on the details by Palmir Group’s spokesman Yuri Glock. According to Mr. Glock, Greek businessmen interested in renting a store in the Bitza Park mall will receive assistance every step of the way on issues regarding the transportation of their goods, customs, accounting details, advertising in Moscow, etc.. The “Bitza Park” multi-functional shopping center in Moscow will get a taste of Greece and its products this summer as already Greek entrepreneurs are in discussions to reserve retail spaces and launch their businesses in the Russian capital city. “The current financial crisis and development of our economy will be faced through the opening to new markets,” Thanasis Skordas, Deputy Minister of Development, Competitiveness, Infrastructure, Transport and Networks, said during a presentation of the Bitza Park mall held last week in Athens. The four-story Bitza Park (БИТЦА ПАРК) in Moscow covers a total area of 83,000 square meters, of which some 70,000 square meters will cover retail space including 3,600 stores and an entertainment center (cinema, bowling center, aquarium and various cafes/restaurants). Berlin-based Palmir Group (global project management and consulting holding) has reserved a space of 400 stores in the Bitza Park mall exclusively for European companies, 50 of which are intended to be distributed amongst Greek entrepreneurs. On the Greek side, tourism network Discover Greece and Pythagoras SA are guiding Greeks who have shown an interest promoting their products to the Russian market. According to representatives of the two bodies, already 20 Greek companies in the fields of clothing, footwear, natural cosmetics and organic products have expressed interest in renting shops in the mall. Some 50,000 visitors are estimated to visit the shopping center on a daily basis. The Bitza Park is scheduled to officially open this summer.
