Digi.Travel will cover the latest developments in e-tourism and include a range of sessions with specific topics of interest to tourism professionals. Professor Dimitris Buhalis, Bournemouth University “The International Federation for IT in Travel and Tourim (IFITT) and I are pleased to support the Digi.travel conference since electronic tourism is one of the main catalysts that will enable Greek tourism and the Greek economy to return to growth,” IFITT’s president, Professor Dimitris Buhalis, said. Professor Buhalis is the deputy director of the International Centre for Tourism and Hospitality Research, School of Tourism, Bournemouth University. At Digi.travel, Professor Buhalis will deliver a speech via web conference on the future of e- tourism and the latest developments in the industry through the topic “eTourism innovations, technology enhanced experiences and augmented reality: The future.” The Digi.travel conference will also feature the following speakers: Georges Panayiotis (MKG Group), R.J. Friedlander (ReviewPro), Chara Georgiadou (trivago), Chad Shivers (TripAdvisor), John Fotis (Marketing & eCommerce specialist), Chris Doyle (Adventure Travel Trade Association-ATTA), Tinkara Pavlovic (IFITT) and Peter Jordan (World Youth & Student Travel Confederation WYSETC). Digi.Travel will take place on 11 October at the Acropolis Museum under the organization of Travel Media Applications and the Development and Tourism Promotion Company of the Municipality of Athens (EATA).
