“In recent years, Greece has made considerable progress for visas to be issued easier, faster and more efficiently, always in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni said on 19 March.

The Greek tourism minister released a statement on the occasion of the Moscow International Exhibition Travel & Tourism (MITT) that opened in Russia.

Greece has managed to facilitate visa issuance procedures for Russian citizens (visas are obtained in 48 hours). The visa facilitation resulted to a major increase in arrivals from Russia to Greece.

Mrs. Kefalogianni said the tourism ministry is currently in the process of further developing the network of visa centers.

“With the same efficiency, we will continue to implement our policies this year for Russian visitors to continue to enjoy the hospitality and the beauty of our country,” she said.
