PETAGA

The top issues the travel agency industry addressed in 2013 were analyzed in detail at the recent annual general meeting in Athens of the Greek Union of Air Travel Agencies (PETAGA).

Issues discussed during the meeting included the travel industry-supported program New Distribution Capability (NDC) launched by the airline industry group IATA, the new economic criteria and the technical and commercial issues that arise from cooperations with airlines in general and need to be resolved.

Following the approval of the 2014 budget, the union’s members were informed on the overall tax situation as it currently stands with the new Greek tax bill and a discussion was held with tax advisor Yiannis Karafas.

In the near future, PETAGA intends to hold a more extensive discussion to provide answers to the many and various issues raised by the new tax law and its corrective circulars.
