Pressing challenges that concern Greek hoteliers and new trends in the international hotel scene will be presented and discussed at the 5th General Assembly of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels on Friday, February 12, during the 11th International Hotel, Restaurant and Cafe Show HORECA at the Metropolitan Expo exhibition center.

The 5th General Assembly will be held at 5pm and attended by Minister of Economy, Development and Tourism George Stathakis and Alternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura.

During the annual general assembly, the chamber will highlight all critical issues that Greek hoteliers are up against, suggest solutions and propose measures. The chamber will also go over its finances and actions of the previous year.

Moreover, the multiple effects of the sharing economy in tourism will be presented. Speakers on the subject will include the CEO of VisitBerlin, Burkhard Kieker, and the general secretary of EFFAT (European Federation of Food, Agriculture and Tourism Trade Unions), Harald Wiedenhofer.

The chamber will also present a study of the Institute for Tourism Research and Forecasts (ITEP) that analyzes the country’s hotel capacity. The study includes an analysis of data involving the Greek hotel sector by region and reflects the carrying capacity for tourism development.
