The meeting was attended by members of the Athens College Alumni Association who are active in the tourism field. The meeting highlighted the sweeping developments in the international accommodation market, travel agency/tour operator sector and the differences in terms of digital marketing (search, display & mobile, dynamic pricing, social media engagement). Also discussed were the effects of the rapid spread of the so-called “sharing economy” (Airbnb, HomeAway etc.) in the hospitality/tourism sector. During the meeting, the businesses of two Athens College graduates were introduced. Iro Hatzilia (class of ’00) presented the city hotel Hera and Mihalis Kiakidis (class of ’84) spoke about the rising trend and role of villa agents while introducing the Greek Villas 4 Rent. The SAKA CET Club aims to develop a line of communication between Athens College graduates and strengthen their ties through actions related to tourism. The coordinator of the SAKA CET Club’s actions is Yiannis Zaras. Follow GTP Headlines on Google News to keep up to date with all the latest on tourism and travel in Greece.
