Two of the most important cultural communities of the island — the Santorini Arts Factory and the Cretan Association of Santorini “To Arkadi” — this year are holding a series of theatrical shows and concerts by popular Greek singers. Despina Vandi, one of Greece’s most popular pop stars, will perform at an event (July 18) by the Cretan Association of Santorini ‘To Arkadi’. The cultural events stretch out between July and September and Aqua Vista Hotels, as a sponsor, will provide the accommodation to the majority of the artists participating. Aqua Vista’s business development executive, Sofia Matzourani, told the Greek Travel Pages (GTP) that the company is always proud to support all kind of events that highlight the Greek civilization. “Besides the accommodation that we happily offer for the artists, we promote each one of the events to all of our guests, as we strongly believe that in order to get to know a destination, you first need to know its culture. Aqua Vista Hotels will always stand to such efforts and the people behind the vision”, she added. Events – Santorini Arts Factory From July 19, the Santorini Arts Factory, a nonprofit organization that aims to promote the Greek cultural heritage, will hold a rich arts festival on the island, hosting aesthetic performances from Greece and beyond. Events this year will include theatre, dance, music ensembles, concerts of acclaimed artists, theater for children, ancient theater with English subtitles, partnerships with international cultural institutions and cooperation with Karolos Koun’s Art Theatre, the Cyclades Cycle Festivals and other world-class players. The cultural center is housed in a unique old factory that now stands as the Tomato Industrial Museum “D. Nomikos”. Following is the events program: – ‘To Arkadi’ A wide range of cultural events will also be presented this summer by the Cretan Association of Santorini ‘To Arkadi’, a cultural association founded by the Cretans who reside on the island. The aim of the association is to spread and preserve the customs and traditions of Greece and more specifically of Crete. Events include performances of very popular Greek singers.
