Greek Minister of Culture, Lydia Koniordou Several highly visited sites across Greece, including the Acropolis and Delphi, will not be extending hours to meet the summer season demand until the culture ministry proceeds with the promised recruitment of additional guards and staff which it announced in March. The ministry, meanwhile, said 1,314 employees would be hired in order to extend visiting hours at major sites across the country, adding that they will take their posts in the coming days. “We hope the staff will be in their positions as of early April,” Culture Minister Lydia Koniordou had said last month. The extended summer opening hours for archaeological sites and museums will be announced on the culture ministry’s website.
