Event News Rhodes to Host Int’l Summer School on Big Data Analysis in Earth Sciences by GTP editing team 5 May 2017 written by GTP editing team 5 May 2017 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 34 The island of Rhodes in the Dodecanese, this summer will host the International Summer School on Big Data Analysis in Earth Sciences (EarthBiAs2017), which will focus on new technologies and the analysis of environmental systems. Starting on August 28 and until September 1, the event will include lectures, workshops and round table discussions on big data systems, new technologies and software, statistical methods and their implementation on the analysis and simulation of environmental systems. The event is open to postgraduate students, researchers and professionals from the fields of natural science, engineering, computer science, information and communication technology. “The Summer School program provides a unique opportunity for participants to interact with a group of scientists from distinguished international institutions and work on big data analysis, diverse methods and tools,” said Demetris F. Lekkas, Associate Professor at the University of the Aegean and scientific director of the Summer School program. The Summer School is being organized by the Environment Department of the Aegean University, in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering and the Global Network for Environmental Science and Technology.
