Company updates Qatar Airways: Charter Flights on Oman Air to Carry Stranded Passengers from Saudi Arabia by GTP editing team 6 June 2017 written by GTP editing team 6 June 2017 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 38 Qatar Airways has arranged for three chartered flights on Oman Air to travel from Jeddah to Muscat on Tuesday, June 6, to carry stranded passengers from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Muskat, Oman. A connecting Qatar Airways flight will then transport passengers onwards from Muscat to Doha, Qatar. The move comes following the suspension of all flights to Doha by major airlines as of Tuesday after Saudi Arabia, along with Egypt, Bahrein and the UAE, on Monday severed diplomatic, land, air and sea ties with the State of Qatar. All Qatari citizens have also been ordered to leave Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain within 14 days. “Qatar Airways operations are running as normal with no disruptions to flights with the exception of those to the four countries Qatar Airways has been restricted to fly to,” the airline said in an announcement, informing that three charter flights will depart Jeddah today at 16:00, 22:00 and 23:00 local time, to Muskat in order to assist all Qatar Airways passengers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. “We encourage all Qatari passengers stranded to make their way to King Abdulaziz International Airport to avail of these three flights today, Tuesday 6th June. All Qatar Airways flight operating to/from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain (BHR) and Egypt (EGY) have been suspended until further notice. The airline has informed that all bookings to/from aforementioned origin and destinations will be open for cancellations or refunds, changes, including rerouting to other airlines (with the exception of EK and EY), free of charge for passengers holding a confirmed reservation and a confirmed ticket issued on/or prior to June 5, 2017, for travel from June 5, 2017, until further notice. On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia announced that it has revoked the license of Qatar Airways and will be shutting down the airline’s offices in the kingdom.
