Air Travel Holy Flame to Reach 17 Greek Destinations via AEGEAN Flights by GTP editing team 4 April 2018 written by GTP editing team 4 April 2018 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 36 Greek carrier AEGEAN on Holy Saturday, April 7, will provide three extra aircraft (non commercial flights) to distribute the Holy Flame to as many Greek destinations as possible, once it arrives in Athens from Jerusalem. © Maria Theofanopoulou Overall, AEGEAN and Olympic Air will transfer the Holy Flame to 17 Greek destinations. The aircraft, which will depart immediately after the arrival of the Holy Flame from Jerusalem, will fly towards three geographical areas: the Aegean; the Ionian; Central and Eastern Greece. Flights will be chartered exclusively for the transfer of the Holy Flame to Kefallonia, Ioannina, Samos, Chios, Larissa and Limnos. According to an announcement, the carrier estimates the scheduled arrival time of the aircraft at the last destination to be between 8.10 pm and 9.15 pm. Furthermore, the Holy Flame will be transferred on 11 scheduled flights to Santorini, Mytilini, Thessaloniki, Chania, Kos, Rhodes, Corfu, Zakynthos, Alexandroupoli, Heraklio and Mykonos. As every year, during holy week, AEGEAN and Olympic Air serve a traditional Greek Easter menu. Also, on Holy Saturday, the cabin crew will offer passengers Easter candles (lambades) on all international flights to Greece and all domestic flights.
