Event News GNTO Targets Senior Travelers in Scandinavia by GTP editing team 3 December 2019 written by GTP editing team 3 December 2019 1 comment Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 13 The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) has organized two events for senior travelers in Scandinavia, aiming to promote Greece as a silver tourism destination. The first event was held on November 29, in Stockholm, Sweden, while the second will take place in Oslo, Norway, on December 15. “The two events are part of an online and offline advertising campaign for the period September – December 2019, which is carried out by GNTO’s service in Scandinavia with the aim to promote Greece’s alternative products and increase pre-bookings for 2020,” the organization said in an announcement. Each event will host approximately 75 representatives of leading tour operators, travel agencies, media and opinion leaders from Sweden and Norway, and will focus on Greece’s year-round travel activities including spa, health and wellness tourism, gastronomy, wine routes and culture. Silver tourism has been rapidly growing in Europe, with the percentage of travelers over the age of 65 expected to increase from 15 percent in 2010 to 25 percent in 2020 and 35 percent in 2050, according to a study carried out earlier this year by Athens-based research firm diaNEOsis.
