CNT’s list reveals some of the best beaches in Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Croatia and Montenegro. “The most dramatic beaches in Greece are undoubtedly in the hard-edged, wind-whipped Cyclades,” CNT says. “The variety of the coastline is astonishing – miles and miles of tot – friendly dunes rippling along the south-west coast of Naxos, the splendid isolation of Vagia and Lia on Serifos, itsy-bitsy coves with milky water frothing against the rocky shores of Koufonissi.” Milos, Greece. Meanwhile, in the Ionian islands, “Corfu has a beach for every mood: Agios Georgios for windsurfers, Avlaki for toddlers, Halikounas for skinny dipping, Peroulades for full frontal sunsets,” says CNT. The magazine’s list also features the beaches of Lefkada – Egremni, Porto Katsiki, and Kathisma – Zakynthos, Paxos and Antipaxos. Balos, Crete Island. In addition, Crete offers a bounty of beautiful beaches. According to CNT, the best beaches on the island are the pale pink sands and azure waters of Balos lagoon and Elafonisi. On the other hand, the wildest lie on the Libyan Sea between Agia Fotini and Agia Galini. Furthermore, CNT includes the Sporades islands on its list, for the pine-fringed beaches of Skiathos, the clear waters of Skopelos and Alonissos, and the unspoiled beaches of Skyros.
