Greece is extending the 14-day self-quarantine required for anyone crossing its borders by air until the end of May, according to a notice to airmen (NOTAM) announced by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Monday.

The NOTAM was issued in cooperation with the Greek Health Ministry and EODY, Greece’s public health organization, for reasons of protection from the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the NOTAM, the measure of mandatory 14-day quarantine for passengers (of all nationalities) arriving to Greece by air, from all international destinations, has been extended until Sunday, May 31, at 23:59.

For two weeks, travelers that enter Greece will have to stay confined at where they stay and limit movements to only basic activities, such as buying necessary products and health reasons.

Excluded from the measure are passengers in transit, flight crew, state flights, sanitary flights, humanitarian flights, passengers from emergency flights, military flights, cargo flights and Frontex flight passengers.

Greece on Friday extended a flight ban for seven countries (Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Albania, Northern Macedonia and Turkey)

The coronavirus has so far infected 2,836 people in Greece and the death toll has reached 165, still among the lowest among EU member-states.

The country on Monday entered its Stage 3 in lifting Covid-19 restrictions.

This will destroy all tourism into Greece. Particularly from long-haul destinations such as Australia, this is going to be a disaster – you will kill all tourism from Australia into Greece. Clients will not fly 24 hours and self-quarantine for 14 days. I hope this does not extend beyond May.

Then why is Aegean cancelling flights scheduled for June 13?
They are not responding to phone calls, it’s impossible to find anyone for formal explanations.
Can you please find out?
Thank you
