The forum has replaced the 85th Thessaloniki International Fair, one of the country’s largest and most influential annual fairs, that was canceled earlier in August, following the government’s decision to impose emergency restrictions in Thessaloniki and other Greek cities and destinations, due to the surge of confirmed Covid-19 cases. Organized by Greece’s national exhibitor TIF-Helexpo, the Thessaloniki Helexpo Forum will include 23 panel discussions under the theme: “Politics, economy & society. Seeking balance”. Photo © TIF-Helexpo Among the forum’s participants will be Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and members of his cabinet, leaders of the opposition parties, MPs, representatives of associations, enterprises and local authorities, who will discuss on the consequences and challenges of the Covid-19 health crisis. On Saturday, September 12, the Greek PM will present the government’s policies for the year ahead and on Sunday he will meet with reporters during a scheduled press conference. Tourism on the agenda Meanwhile, tourism will be among the main issues of discussion at the Thessaloniki Helexpo Forum. The new circumstances and challenges caused by the pandemic will be analyzed during the “Tourism in the new conditions” panel discussion that will take place on September 14 at 5pm. Other panels to be held during the forum will focus on: Extroversion and exports in the new conditions Digital Justice Energy and sustainable practices New technologies in the primary sector Beyond 4.0 Investments and business cooperation (Hellenic-German Chamber) Private and public investments Thessaloniki, opportunities and prospects Smart cities & competitive regions Covid 19 and health under the new conditions Thessaloniki, northern Greece.
