The 119-room property will be part of the MK Hotel Collection, the investment arm of CIG Hellas in the tourism sector. According to an announcement, the group’s management has prepared a complete investment plan for the hotel’s renovation and upgrade that will start immediately and includes two phases. During the first phase, which will run until April 2021, extensive renovation works will be carried out in the hotel’s public areas, the main building and on the beach. The second phase, to be completed in April 2022, includes the complete overhaul of the rooms. The hotel’s new architecture and design will feature a refined, boho aesthetic, where the wooden element will harmoniously blend with metallic details and earthy tones. Substantial changes will also be made to the hotel’s services with the aim to offer guests an upgraded experience of luxury accommodation, and unique Mediterranean gastronomy. In addition, the brand will change as the hotel will join the Sentido Hotels & Resorts chain and be renamed to Sentido Unique Blue Resort. The resort will open its doors to welcome its first travelers on April 17, 2021. According to CIG Hellas President and CEO Marita Karatzi, this investment marks the first of a series of strategic moves in the field of tourism. Marita Karatzi “We have been thinking of proceeding with attractive investments in select Greek destinations for quite some time… We will gradually begin our investment plan either through acquisitions or new tourism developments,” she said. The management of CIG Group Hellas has had a successful presence of over two decades in the hotel industry. It has designed and implemented investments in hotel units in key areas of Greece.
