The Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) has created a new passenger disembarkation platform at the Piraeus port.

The new platform can be used safely on ships of various sizes calling at the port of Piraeus and improves the operational capacity of the port to deal with emergencies.

According to a company announcement, the platform was constructed taking into consideration the dimensions of the ships of coastal shipping as well as cruise ships which operate in the wider area.

It will be used in cases of inability to use the ship’s own means.

The project was carried out under the supervision of an independent inspection and certification body. All the prescribed design and construction standards were observed, aiming at upgrading PPA’s areas of responsibility.
