Flamenco enthusiasts living or visiting Crete this summer, will have the opportunity to participate in the “Vamos! Flamenco Camp”, that is scheduled to take place during July 20-25, in the historic village of Vamos.

Organized by Yota Baron Productions, the camp’s program will feature prominent flamenco artists from Greece and abroad that will present their work through performances and workshops.

Located near Chania, the village of Vamos is strongly connected to the flamenco tradition, as it was founded by Arab pirates that left Spain in the 8th century. Its name “Vamos” means “go” in Spanish.

“The idea to hold a flamenco camp in Vamos came from the deep connection of the village, its people, cuisine and history with the culture of flamenco in Andalusia,” the organizer said.
